Lane Closures Scheduled for I-70 Near Pittman Rd. and Phelps Rd. Beginning Oct. 1

JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting bridge work along east and westbound Interstate 70 in the vicinity of Pittman Road and Phelps Road beginning at 11 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1. This is all part of the bridge project along I-70 at the Crysler, Pittman, and Phelps bridges. All work is weather permitting.

  • Eastbound I-70 will have a left lane closure in the vicinity of Pittman Road beginning at 11 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, until 6 a.m. the following morning.
  • Eastbound I-70 will have the two left lanes closed in the vicinity of Phelps Road on Wednesday, Oct. 3, beginning at 12:30 a.m. until 6 a.m. that same morning.
  • Westbound I-70 will have a double left lane closure in the vicinity of Phelps Road beginning at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4 until 6 a.m. the following morning.

Use the zipper merge method at the merge points. Take turns. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
