This work is for a repair on the Blue River Bridge, one of the several bridges undergoing replacement or rehabilitation as part of the I-435 South Loop Link project. The bridge has multiple failed bearings (see photos attached) that are in need of replacement, although the bridge deck joint will undergo rehab work at a later date. All work is weather dependent.
Motorists should expect delays traveling through the area and plan ahead with alternate routes in mind. Review the work on MoDOT’s Traveler Information map at traveler.modot.org. For potential impacts to traffic, please review KC Scout cameras at http://www.kcscout.net/
The Missouri Department of Transportation urges all motorists to always wear safety belts, follow posted speed limits and be alert for slowed traffic, narrowed lanes or a reduced number of lanes during construction and maintenance work. And remember, every work zone is a NO PHONE ZONE.
