Eastbound Interstate 70 will be reduced to one lane
HANNIBAL – Cross-state travelers should be aware Norfolk Southern Railroad will be making repairs to the High Hill overpass in Montgomery County that bridges Interstate 70 near mile marker 179 on Monday, Oct. 8 beginning at 8 a.m.
During the repairs, which will take place under the bridge on the right side of eastbound I-70, the interstate will be reduced to one lane to safely allow the contractor to make repairs to the bridge. In addition, there will be an 11-foot width restriction in the work area. The railroad has indicated the repairs are temporary until a permanent fix can be completed.
The overpass was damaged in an incident Monday evening.
