JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation and its crews have completed extensive bridge rehabilitation work along Interstate 470 that began in spring 2017. In order to fully open all currently closed lanes and loop ramps at the I-470/Route 291 and I-70 interchange, crews will have various lane shifts in the area beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, until approximately 5 a.m. the following morning. At that time, all lanes along and loop ramps to and from I-470/Route 291 and I-70 will be OPEN. All work is weather permitting.
This project began in Lee’s Summit in spring 2017 and rehabilitated over a dozen bridges along the I-470 corridor in just two construction seasons. Work has been completed on time and within budget. MoDOT thanks all motorists for their patience during this extensive project.
Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
