JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation and its crews plan to open the southbound lanes of I-470/Route 291 and the southbound I-470/Route 291 loop ramp onto eastbound I-70 beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13. Work will last throughout the day. Motorists should expect to various lane shifts in this area during this time. Due to unforeseen issues with concrete, the closures along northbound I-470/Route 291 and the loop ramp from eastbound I-70 onto northbound I-470/Route 291 will remain in place until further notice. All work is weather permitting.
Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
