Crews to Conduct Rumble Strip Operations Along I-470/Route 291 Beginning Oct. 20

JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting rumble strip work along both directions of Interstate 470 near I-70, Cedar Creek, U.S. 40, Little Blue River (Independence), View High Drive, Little Blue River (Lee’s Summit), James A. Reed Rd., Blue Ridge Blvd. and the Kansas City Southern Railroad Bridges beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20. This is a moving operation so motorists are reminded to be cautious, slow down, and move over. In the event the work is not completed on Saturday, crews will return on Sunday to finish up the work. All work is weather permitting.

Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
