Walnut Creek on Randolph County Route DD Set to Open After Closing for Bridge Rehabilitation Project

MACON – Randolph County Route DD is set to open today, October 31st, at Walnut Creek, located approximately 1.9 miles west of Randolph County Route Z near Cairo, after being closed for a bridge rehabilitation project. The project consisted of replacing the bridge deck.

“This bridge is now 2 feet wider than the old bridge, and guardrail was also installed as an increased safety measure,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Brian Haeffner, P.E.

Lehman Construction of California, Missouri, was awarded the project which also included replacement of the deck on the Coon Creek bridge on Randolph County Route EE at a total cost of $548,890. Route EE at Coon Creek is still closed for the deck replacement.
