Pedestrian Improvements Resume on Route Y This Week in Jamestown

MONITEAU COUNTY – Contractors working for the Missouri Department of Transportation have resumed Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) sidewalk improvement work this week along Moniteau County Route Y in Jamestown.

Most of the sidewalk work will take place off of the roadway, and will not impact traffic. When work affects traffic, motorists are asked to follow signs and flaggers through the work zone. The contractor has 28 total days to complete the work in Jamestown.

This work is part of a project that includes various sidewalk improvements in the Cooper and Moniteau county communities of Blackwater, Bunceton, Jamestown, Otterville, Pilot Grove, Prairie Home, and Woolridge.

The contractor has until the summer of 2019 to complete the entire project.

MoDOT will alert the public about the project through signs, news releases, and social media when work begins in each community. Minor traffic delays are possible, with occasional temporary lane and entrance closures possible in the work areas.
