MACON - Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, November 7th, the westbound ramps will close at Missouri Route 161/Route J in Montgomery County for the bridge replacement project over Interstate 70. The ramps will be closed for approximately 13 days.
“It was originally shared that all eastbound and westbound ramps would close at the same time,” said Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Erik Maninga. “However, to minimize the impact to motorists, the decision was made to alternate the closures,” he explained.
Upon completion of the westbound ramps, some additional work will be completed on MO 161. Once that work is completed, the eastbound ramps will close. The specific date of closure of the eastbound ramps is unknown at this time, but we will share that information once a specific date can be determined.
