Roads Snow Covered, Interestate 70 Slow Going

HANNIBAL - From about Frankford in Pike County to Mexico in Audrain County and south past Interstate 70, heavy snow is contributing to challenging driving conditions.  All available Missouri Department of Transportation crews are plowing and have been all night.  "We have anywhere from four to six inches of snow in those areas, and it is still snowing," said MoDOT Maintenance and Traffic Engineer Jennifer Hinson, P.E.    She indicated there is still slow moving traffic along I-70 near Mineola Hill (mm 169) where tractor trailers have a hard time climbing the hills in these conditions, despite constant treatment on the road.

All drivers in those areas are encouraged to consider delaying their trip if possible until road conditions can be improved.

The best source of road conditions is the traveler map at www.modot.org.
