The intersection of U.S. Route 63 and Missouri Route 133 north of Westphalia will undergo improvements, under a contract approved Wednesday by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission.
The project includes the realignment of the intersection to improve sight distances for motorists, as well as adding right-turn and left-turn lanes from Route 63 to Route 133 and a left-turn lane from Route 63 to Main Street. An adjustment to the alignment of Main Street will also be done.
Capital Paving and Construction was awarded the contract, after submitting the low bid of $603,556.
The project is scheduled to take place as early as spring 2019. When a start date is established, MoDOT will alert the public about the project through signs, news releases and social media.
