JACKSON/CLAY COUNTIES – The Missouri Department of Transportation has conducted a traffic switch and opened northbound and southbound traffic on the Route 291 Bridges at Shoal Creek. However, the left lanes of northbound and southbound traffic remains closed. Those lanes will open when crews remove the crossover barriers. This work is all part of a project to rehab the Route 291 Bridges at Shoal Creek. Work is scheduled to be completed at the end of December, 2018. All work is weather dependent.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
