Phone-in Public Meeting for Route 37/Center Creek

Bridge Project Planned for Dec. 20

Jasper County – A phone-in public meeting is planned for December 20 where area residents can call in and ask questions about plans to replace the Missouri Route 37 bridge over Center Creek near Sarcoxie in 2019 or 2020, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

MoDOT project experts will be available from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, December 20, by calling (417) 621-6310.

Those unable to call in during that time can visit www.modot.org/southwest and view information about the project.  They also can make comments or submit questions via e-mail by clicking on the “Give us your comments on this project” link at the bottom of the project page.

MoDOT plans to close the Center Creek bridge for up to 150 days to replace the current bridge. The new bridge will be 10 feet wider and 15 feet longer.

During the closing, a signed detour will be in place to get drivers around the work zone. Drivers will have access to driveways and entrances on either side of the bridge.

Project Details:

  • Replace Route 37 bridge over Center Creek
  • Upgrade guardrail
  • Estimated total project cost: $1.7 million

Current Bridge Facts:

  • Bridge built in 1954
