JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation has OPENED the Crysler Ave. bridge over Interstate 70 as of Monday, Dec. 17. This bridge, along with the Pittman Rd. and Phelps Rd. bridges over I-70, were closed in late May 2018 for a total bridge replacements. The Pittman Road bridge re-opened on Nov. 28 and now crews have opened the Crysler Ave. bridge. This bridge had reached the end of its usable life and has now been fully replaced. The new structure provides better access for pedestrians and will be able to accommodate for a potential expansion of I-70 in the future.
The Phelps Rd. bridges is currently on track to be completed in December as well. All work is weather permitting.
Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
