JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will have a daily single lane closure along a portion of U.S. 71 between 75th Street and 87th Street starting on Monday, Jan. 7, from 9 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m. daily. All work is weather permitting.
- Beginning on Monday, Jan. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, crews will close one lane of southbound S. 71 between 75th Street and 87th Street. Capital Electric will be working on overhead lighting in the area. This will take place daily for approximately one week.
- Beginning on approximately Monday, Jan. 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, crews will close one lane of northbound S. 71 between 87th Street and 75th Street. Capital Electric will be working on overhead lighting in the area. This will take place daily for approximately one week.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
