Night Sign Work to Close an Area of Route 50 in Jefferson City

COLE COUNTY – Work on traffic signs near the U.S. Route 50/U.S. Route 54 interchange in Jefferson City will require separate closures of westbound Route 50 and the westbound Route 50 ramp to eastbound Route 54 during the evening hours on Wednesday, Jan. 9 and Thursday, Jan. 10.

The closures and detours for this project are:

  • On Wednesday, westbound Route 50 will be closed in the area of the interchange from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. During Wednesday’s work, traffic will be detoured from westbound Route 50 to Missouri Boulevard to Dix Road back to Route 50 westbound.
  • On Thursday, the westbound Route 50 ramp to eastbound Route 54 will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. During Thursday’s work, westbound Route 50 motorists who will want to access Route 54 East will be detoured from westbound Route 50 to Missouri Boulevard to the entrance ramp to Route 54 eastbound.

Message boards ahead of the work zones will warn motorists of the lane closures. Travelers are asked to plan ahead and leave extra time to reach their destination during the work. MoDOT appreciates the patience of travelers as we complete the sign operation. All work is weather permitting. Work may be delayed due to weather conditions.
