Crews close several lanes at I-29 at 56th St. for pavement repairs

PLATTE COUNTY – Due to a series of large potholes, crews have closed two lanes of southbound I-29 at 56th St. in Platte County for much needed repairs. This location will remain closed through rush hour, Wednesday, Jan. 23 and into the overnight hours. Crews hope to have the lanes back open during the next morning’s commute, but there is a chance those lanes will still be closed. Crews are also working on a long-term solution for this issue. To check on the traffic impact of this location, or another section of the Kansas City metro area, go to www.kcscout.net. All work is weather dependent.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
