UPDATED: U.S. Route 36 Westbound Closed Due To Crash

Location of incident close to Hiawatha

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – U.S. Route 36 westbound in Kansas, is closed due to a crash. Crews from the Kansas Highway Patrol have alerted us that the incident is five miles east of Hiawatha and they are awaiting a crane from Topeka to clear the scene. The road could be closed for three to four hours or more from the initial crash.

KHP is diverting motorists at Route 7 in Kansas. To avoid delays, if you're able, find an alternate route other than US Route 36 westbound and Route 7.
