KANSAS CITY – The Missouri Department of Transportation has plans to demo the Wornall Road Bridge over I-435 this weekend. Beginning Saturday, Jan. 26 at 5 a.m., crews will CLOSE the left lane on the collector-distributer side of westbound I-435 from Holmes Road to nearly State Line Road.
At 5:30 a.m., they will CLOSE Wornall Road in both directions at I-435. They will also CLOSE the westbound Wornall Road exit ramp. At 6:30 a.m. they will CLOSE the right lane of westbound I-435 on the express lane side from Holmes to halfway between Wornall and State Line Roads.
All lanes of westbound I-435 are expected to reopen by 7 a.m. on Sunday morning and Wornall Road and exit ramps are expected to reopen by 9:30 a.m.
All work is weather dependent.

This work is part of the I-435 South Loop Link project that will replaces the bridges at Wornall and Holmes, rehabilitates the bridges at 104th Street and the Blue River, and upgrades the pavement on I-435 which includes adding another lane. The Missouri Department of Transportation urges all motorists to always wear safety belts, follow posted speed limits and be alert for slowed traffic, narrowed lanes or a reduced number of lanes during construction and maintenance work. And remember, every work zone is a NO PHONE ZONE.
