Commission Awards Contracts for Southeast District Projects

SIKESTON – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded contracts for Southeast District projects during its regular meeting on May 2. Awarded contracts include bridge improvements, a bridge replacement, and concrete and asphalt repairs.

Contracts include the following:

  • A $1,569,592 contract was awarded to Joe’s Bridge & Grading, Inc., for a bridge deck replacement on Interstate 55 over Interstate 57/US 60 in Scott County.
  • A $125,000 contract was awarded to Fronabarger Concreters, Inc., for concrete repairs on Interstates 55 and 57 in Ste. Genevieve, Perry, Cape Girardeau, Scott and Mississippi counties.
  • A $188,419 contract was awarded to Apex Paving Co., for asphalt repairs on Interstates 55 and 57 in Ste. Genevieve, Perry, Cape Girardeau, Scott and Mississippi counties.
  • A $125,000 contract was awarded to Fronabarger Concreters, Inc., for concrete repairs on Interstate 55 in Scott, New Madrid and Pemiscot counties.
  • A $191,106 contract was awarded to Apex Paving Co., for asphalt repairs on Interstate 55 in Scott, New Madrid and Pemiscot counties.
  • A $1,163,269 contract was awarded to St. Louis Bridge Construction Co., for bridge improvements on the Route 51 Mississippi River Bridge (Chester Bridge) in Perry County.
  • A $777,481 contract was awarded to Lehman Construction, LLC., for a bridge replacement Route 21 over Carver Creek in Iron County.
  • A $6,787,760 contract was awarded to Chester Bross Construction Co., for pavement improvements in Cape Girardeau County on:
    • Route K from Route 25 to Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau, Mo., and;
    • Route 61 (Jackson Boulevard/Kingshighway) from Route 25 in Jackson, Mo., to Interstate 55 south of Cape Girardeau, Mo. in Cape Girardeau County.
  • A $396,294 contract was awarded to Lehman Construction, LLC., for slope repairs on Route 67 in various locations on Routes 67 in Madison, Wayne and Butler counties.  

Additional information, regarding timelines and impacts to traffic, will be released prior to the start of construction.

Work zones will be marked with signs as work is underway. Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling in these areas and plan for possible delays. MoDOT will alert drivers prior to any changes in traffic.
