Upcoming Bridge Improvement Project on Route J in Ozark County

Notice of Opportunity for Public Hearing

SIKESTON-The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to replace the Route J bridge over Lick Creek in Ozark County, Mo. The bridge is located approximately 3 miles south of Route 160, west of Norfolk Lake.

The project is expected to be let in February 2020. Construction could begin as early as April 2020. As construction is underway, Route J will be closed to through traffic in the vicinity of the bridge. The bridge will be closed to traffic for approximately three months during construction, weather permitting. Completion is anticipated in fall 2020.

Maps, plans, and other information prepared by MoDOT will be available for public inspection and copying at MoDOT’s Regional Office in Willow Springs, Mo., located at 3956 East Main St.

Any person affected by this project may request that a public hearing be held in regard to the proposed improvements. Requests for a public hearing should be in writing and must be submitted to District Engineer Mark Shelton at P.O. Box 160, Sikeston, MO 63801, by March 20, 2019.
