St. Louis Work Zones for March 14-20

ST. LOUIS – Drivers who use I-44 should be aware of some new lane restrictions starting next week. On Monday, March 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., crews will close one lane on eastbound I-44 to restripe eastbound I-44 for three lanes. Each evening for the remainder of the week, between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m., crews will close an additional lane to set barrier wall for the new temporary median.

The lane closures are part of the second year of a construction project to update several bridges on I-44 in St. Louis City between Kingshighway and Grand. This work replaces interstate bridges at Kingshighway, Thurman and 39th Street and rehabilitates interstate bridges over Vandeventer, Tower Grove and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

Meanwhile, crews will close the I-70 express lanes at 9 a.m. Friday, March 15 to set girders for the new pedestrian bridge north of Madison. Then sometime after 10 p.m. crews will close all lanes of eastbound and westbound I-70 north of Madison for about 10 minutes to swing girders over the interstate. All lanes, including the express lanes, are expected to be open by 6 a.m. Saturday, March 16.
