JACKSON COUNTY – MoDOT Kansas City will close the Chestnut Avenue bridge over I-70 beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 18, until approximately mid-May . Additionally, there will be various nightly lane closures along eastbound and westbound I-70 for the two weeks following March 18 from 7 p.m. each evening to 5 a.m. This closure is part of the bridge rehabilitation project of the 8th, 9th, 10th, and Chestnut bridges over I-70. More details about this project can be found here. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and find alternate routes if necessary. All work is weather permitting.
