Eastgate Avenue and Ingram Mill Road also set for resurfacing following Route YY project.
Springfield, Greene County – Drivers can expect one-lane traffic and crews and equipment on Greene County Route YY (East Division Street) between U.S. Route 65 in Springfield and Missouri Route 125 starting the week of March 18 when crews grind off the top layer of asphalt and resurface the roadway, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Drivers can expect flaggers directing them through the one open lane. Delays are expected where crews are set up working. Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes.
The project also includes resurfacing Eastgate Avenue and Ingram Mill Road in Springfield. Both streets will be resurfaced once Greene County Route YY is complete.
Project highlights:
- Greene County Route YY (East Division Street) will be resurfaced between Route 125 and Route 65. Crews also will add shoulders along the roadway. Crews will work during daytime hours. The work will take place from week of March 18 until early April.
- Eastgave Avenue will be resurfaced during evening/overnight hours between Division Street and Sunshine Street in Springfield. Crews will work between 4 p.m. and 6 a.m. The work will start after the Greene County Route YY resurfacing is complete.
- Ingram Mill Road will be resurfaced during evening/overnight hours between Linwood Street and Catalpa Street in Springfield. Crews will work between 4 p.m. and 6 a.m. The work will start after the Greene County Route YY resurfacing is complete.
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
Journagan Construction of Springfield will do the work for a low bid amount of $1.2 million.
The work is scheduled to be completed by November 1, 2019. However, contractor crews expect to have the project completed much sooner barring construction or weather delays.
