Nightly Lane Closures Scheduled for Portion of I-70 for Resurfacing Work Beginning TONIGHT March 20

JACKSON COUNTY – MoDOT Kansas City will be closing various lanes along eastbound and westbound I-70 NIGHTLY between Sterling Avenue and Route 291 beginning TONIGHT Wednesday, March 20 until approximately the end of June. The work will be nightly from 7 p.m. each evening to 5 a.m. the following morning. These lane closures are for resurfacing work, guard rail work, and full depth repairs. Up to two lanes will be closed at a time depending on the work. All work is weather permitting.

Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
