Traffic Alert: MoDOT Plans Work in Three Trails Crossing this Weekend, Will Impact Traffic

JACKSON COUNTY – Beginning this Friday morning at 10 a.m. the Missouri Department of Transportation will CLOSE lanes from I-470 westbound into the current I-435 roadway project. One lane of the outer collector/distributor lanes will also close and remain closed until Saturday at noon. This WILL impact westbound I-470 traffic entering the roadway project. Currently I-470 traffic must merge into the outmost lanes to access ramps at 103rd , Holmes Road, Wornall Road and State Line Road. That merge will also be CLOSED. All traffic from I-470 will go straight through to Roe Avenue in Kansas to access a detour.

This will also CLOSE one lane of the through, or expressway, starting at 8 p.m. on Friday night until Saturday at noon.

All work is for paving operations and is weather dependent. Review the planned work on MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map at traveler.modot.org. To review the traffic impacts, visit KC Scout’s website at www.kcscout.net.

This work is part of the I-435 South Loop Link project which will replace the bridges at Wornall and Holmes, rehabilitate the bridges at 104th Street and the Blue River, upgrade the pavement on I-435 which includes adding another lane. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
