Public Invited to Meeting about Atlanta Sidewalk Project

MACON – Individuals are invited to a public meeting that will discuss a future sidewalk project that will be taking place in Atlanta. The proposed project is along Macon County Route M going from Atterberry Street to Orchard Street. This project is being completed as a part of MoDOT’s initiative to bring all MoDOT facilities into compliance with the current standards of the American’s with Disabilities Act.

The public meeting will be held Thursday, March 28th at the Atlanta Baptist Church from 4:00-6:00 p.m. MoDOT representatives will be on hand to explain the project and answer any questions.

“We are looking forward to completing this project, as we work towards our goal of making our transportation system accessible to everyone,” said District Utilities Engineer Shane Viers, P.E.

The project is planned to start the summer of 2020.
