MoDOT to Hold Public Meeting to Discuss Upcoming Bridge Replacement in Thayer

SIKESTON-The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an informational public meeting from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 to discuss an upcoming bridge replacement in Thayer, Mo. The meeting will be held at Thayer Elementary School in the cafeteria, located at 365 East Walnut St.

The project includes replacing the Business 63 bridge over the BNSF railroad and Two Mile Creek in Thayer, Mo. The new bridge will be wider than the existing structure and will include a pedestrian crossing.

"Visitors can stop-by anytime between 4 and 6 p.m. to discuss the details of the project with the MoDOT project team,” said MoDOT Project Manager Pete Berry.

The project is expected to be let in March 2020, with construction beginning as early as June 2020. As construction is underway, Business 63 will be closed to through traffic in the vicinity of the bridge for approximately three months. Completion is anticipated in fall 2021.
