MoDOT to close Maritz bridge over I-44 for a month for repairs

ST. LOUIS – Drivers who use the Maritz Overpass Street bridge over I-44 as part of their daily travels will need to find an alternate route as crews will close the bridge later this week to make repairs.

Crews will close the bridge over the interstate at 9 a.m. Friday, March 29, to start repairs to the bridge needed after the bridge was struck by an oversized vehicle last year. In addition, the bridge will be closed to pedestrians, for safety, during the construction. The bridge is expected to remain closed to traffic for about a month.

Drivers can use Route 141 or to Bowles to get around the bridge closure. In addition, crews will close one lane on I-44 in both directions during non-peak traffic times for the bridge repairs.
