Project Summary

What is the problem?

The Missouri Department of Transportation is implementing a project to address the aging pavement, signing, guardrail and traffic signals. The project location is on North Outer 44 from Route 47 in St. Clair, to the Crawford County line, in Sullivan, as well as the South Outer Road 44 from Exit 225 to Exit 226 in Sullivan.

What are the anticipated impacts?

Daytime work will include lane closures and traffic shifts. Signing, signals, ADA upgrades and guardrail work will occur during the day.  MoDOT expects resurfacing work to take place during daytime and nighttime hours. There will be flagging operations throughout the duration of the project.  

 

 

What does the project include?

The Missouri Department of Transportation is planning a pavement improvement project for this portion of the corridor that will include:

  • Pavement resurfacing on the North and South Outer Roads of I-44.
  • Upgrading the signing, including upgrading the reflectivity of the signing along the pavement marking on the outer roads. 
  •  Upgrading guardrail to current standards
  • Signal equipment upgrades at Route 185/WW
  • ADA upgrades at Route 185/WW and along the South Outer Road of I-44.

How much is the total cost of the project?
