Project details:

The goal of this project is to replace the existing stone arch culvert along Route 92 between Kearney and Excelsior Springs, MO. In addition, crews will also work to repair shoulder failure along this route.

What impact will this project have on traffic?

There will be closures of Route 92 for approximately three months, just west of Cordell Rd.

The detour route for going east Route 92 is south on Missouri Route 33 in Kearney to north U.S. Route 69, bringing drivers to the very east of 92 Hwy in Excelsior Springs. Going west on Route 92 is the reverse:

South on U.S. Route 69 from Excelsior Springs to north Missouri Route 33 into Kearney and onto Route 92.

What is the timeline for this project?

The project was let in mid-March of 2023. Construction began in October of 2023. Construction is anticipated to be completed by Spring 2024. Unfortunately, the project encountered delays due to unexpected conflicts with fiber lines once construction started.  The utility conflicts were cleared in late January and construction of the box culvert has recommenced.  Construction is anticipated to be completed early May, weather dependent.

What will this project cost?

The cost of this project will be an estimated $100,000 to $300,000.
