Project Summary
The Daviess County Route 190 Bridge over Clear Creek was built in 1932 and carries approximately 1101 vehicles per day.
The bridge is in need of replacement due to its age and poor condition.
MoDOT and consultants from EFK Moen, LLC, are designing a project to replace the current structure with a wider bridge that will also include guardrail.
Project Progress
MoDOT and consultants from EFK Moen, LLC, are working to design the bridge replacement. This phase includes designing the bridge structure, determining traffic control and the detour to be used during construction, right of way acquisition and a public input period.
- A public meeting was held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Gallatin High School library (602 South Olive Street, Gallatin, MO).

This project was part of MoDOT's September 2024 letting, when contractors submitted competitive bids on the project.
At their October 2024 meeting, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $1,721,128.57 contract to Capital Paving & Construction, LLC to complete the bridge replacement project.
The earliest date the contractor could begin work is Nov. 4, 2024.
MoDOT will work with the contractor to determine a schedule for construction.
By contract, all work must be complete on or before Dec. 1, 2025.

Q: What will the impact to traffic be?
A: The roadway will be closed at the bridge throughout the duration of the project. A signed detour will be in place directing motorists to use U.S. Route 65 and Missouri Route 6 around the closure.
