A corridor wide contract for the replacement of overhead signs along I-70 between the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge and the Warren County line was awarded in late fall 2022 for nearly $5 million
Contractor crews review signs along the corridor to determine which ones meet Federal standards and which need to be replaced. That started in early 2023.
Crews install the signs along the corridor. Work starts in St. Charles County and moves along the corridor to the east. The project is set to be complete in early 2024.
What is the current situation?
Contractor crews have reviewed overhead signs along I-70 between the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge and the Warren County limits, determining which signs have reached the end of their useful life. New signs have been ordered and are currently in the process of being replaced, starting in St. Charles County and working to the east.
