Improve I-70: Columbia to Kingdom City Traffic Sound Barrier Meeting

Virtual Meeting - Wednesday, June 25, 2025
Microsoft Teams Meeting

This meeting will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday June 25, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. central time. Link will be available soon.

As part of the Improve I-70: Columbia to Kingdom City project, a traffic noise analysis was performed. This analysis determined that areas along the project corridor will experience sound level impacts under design year (2045) traffic conditions. A noise impact occurs when a predicted design year noise level exceeds 66 decibels. Three sound barriers are recommended to mitigate for design year noise levels.

This meeting will focus on noise study areas within the Improve I-70: Columbia to Kingdom City project that qualify for noise abatement measures (Sound Barrier). The purpose of this meeting is to obtain public comments and ask residents to vote on whether or not Sound Walls should be constructed at the recommended locations. Note: Only the residents and  owners of the properties adjacent to the wall locations will be permitted to vote.
