MoDOT is replacing the bridge over Hickory Creek on Holt County Route B. The bridge was built in 1938 and is in need of replacement. The bridge is located just south of County Road 225 and the Nodaway Valley Conservation Area is immediately to the east.

Planning, Design, Right of Way Acquisition and Public Input Phase

MoDOT designed a project to replace the Hickory Creek Bridge on Holt County Route B, north of Route 120. 

MoDOT's Right of Way team worked with affected property owners, including the Missouri Departments of Conservation and Natural Resources, about necessary right-of-way acquisition for the project.

A public comment period was held from Aug. 10 - 26, 2022.

Contract Letting, Award & Notice to Proceed

This project was originally scheduled for MoDOT's February 2023 letting for contractor bidding, but due to additional environmental study requirements, the project was pushed back to the March 2024 letting. The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded the project to North Central Bridge, LLC at their June 2024 meeting.

Project Construction

The contractor, North Central Bridge, LLC, anticipates closing the roadway at the bridge and beginning the project in spring of 2025.
