Dug Hill Bridge, Focus on Bridges Programmatic Agreement

Bridge J0521, locally known as the Dug Hill Bridge, is a 1931, 140’ long, seven-panel, rigid-connected, Pratt through truss constructed from standard Missouri State Highway Department designs. The bridge is 274’ long, total length, with 34’, 40’ and 50’ approach spans—the northern approach span is flared to accommodate turns onto and from the county road to the north. The bridge has concrete abutments with wingwalls and concrete piers. The bents are steel piles with concrete bent cap. The bridge has a 20’ wide roadway, flaring to 36’ at the end of the northern approach span.

 

The bridge is eligible for listing on the NRHP under criteria C for significance in engineering as a good example of standard State Highway Department Pratt through truss design.
