SIKESTON-The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an open-house community briefing from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, to discuss upcoming improvements to the Route PP bridge over Cane Creek in Butler County. The briefing will be held at the Schultz and Summers office, located at 4800 West Blvd. in Poplar Bluff.
"Visitors can stop-by anytime between 4 and 6 p.m. to discuss the details with a member of the project team and provide their comments," said Project Manager Eric Krapf.
The project will include replacing the bridge with a wider structure. As work is underway, the roadway will remain closed. A contract for the project is expected to be awarded in December 2011. Work could begin as early as spring 2012, with completion in late summer 2012.
