River navigation lights to be installed on new Rocheport Bridge this week

Single-lane closures planned for westbound traffic

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Westbound Interstate 70 is scheduled to narrow to one lane over the Missouri River, just west of Exit 115, for the installation of river navigation lights. This work on the new westbound Lance Corporal Leon Deraps I-70 Missouri River (Rocheport) Bridge is scheduled to take place Thursday, Nov. 16, between 6 and 9 a.m.

Both westbound and eastbound traffic are currently using the new westbound bridge, but eastbound travelers should not be affected during the light installation.

Motorists are advised to be alert, pay attention to signs and traffic control personnel, and plan ahead for potential delays.

The new westbound bridge is complete and construction on the new eastbound bridge is underway. Progress can be viewed and followed via the cameras linked at the project’s webpage modot.org/RocheportBridge. While there, learn more details about this $220 million project which began in early 2022 and is on time to be completed with both bridges open to traffic in December 2024.
