Project Summary
The proposed project includes replacing the Route 62 Bridge over St. Francis River project between St. Francis, AR in Clay County, AR and Dunklin County, MO. The current bridge, built in 1953, is an aging structure in need of replacement.
Construction Update:
Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin Monday, Jan. 12, 2026 with completion anticipated Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2026. The route will remain closed until the work is completed and a signed detour will be in place. Learn More >

Public Meeting Information: May 30, 2024
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), in coordination with the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT), held a public meeting on Thursday, May 30 from 4-6 p.m. to discuss the proposed replacement of the Route 62 bridge over the St. Francis River. The bridge is located at the state line from Dunklin County, Missouri to Clay County, Arkansas.
The in-person meeting on Thursday, May 30 from 4-6 p.m. was held at the St. Francis Baptist Church, 355 N Church Street, St. Francis, Arkansas.
It is anticipated the roadway will be closed in the vicinity of the bridge during construction. In addition, the boat ramp access at the Route 62 bridge will be temporarily closed as work is underway. During this time, the public can access the river via the Chalk Bluff Trail Access.
