Project Summary

MoDOT is implementing a project to address aging pavement and traffic signals, the lack of connectivity for pedestrians and all modes of transportation, and drainage improvements on Route D (Page Ave.)  from east of Pennsylvania Avenue to the St. Louis City limits.  The project will study needs of this specific segment, including a possible road diet.  MoDOT will perform a road safety audit (RSA) and will be soliciting feedback from the public in several ways throughout the project.

What improvements will be made?

  • Pavement resurfacing and new pavement markings.
  • Upgraded sidewalks to meet ADA requirements.
  • Additional sidewalks along the corridor to accommodate pedestrians.
  • Upgraded traffic signals at intersections to meet ADA standards from Pennsylvania to Skinker/Kienlen.
  • Drainage system improvements.

What will be the impact to traffic?

Right now, MoDOT is still studying the corridor.  Once construction begins (anticipated 2025), every reasonable effort will be made to reduce delays due to construction.  However, motorists using the route can anticipate daily lane closures and some night operations.

How much will the project cost?

This project is anticipated to cost $7.1 million.
