Project Summary

MoDOT plans to replace the Route OO bridge over the Whitewater River in Cape Girardeau County. The bridge is located four miles south of Burfordville, Missouri between County Road 379 and County Road 365. The new bridge will be 26 feet wide, six feet wider than the existing structure.

Work to replace the bridge could begin as early as summer 2026. During construction, the roadway will be closed in the vicinity of the bridge for approximately five months. A signed detour will be in place.

Due to the proximity of the Route OO bridge to the Route Z bridges over Hubble Creek and Hubble Creek Overflow near Gordonville, Missouri, the construction schedules will be coordinated to avoid closing the routes simultaneously.
