Project Updates

Frequently Asked Questions:

Will there be any signed detours?

Yes.  For the Route N bridge, drivers will be directed along Polk County Route MM and Route A.  For the Northbound Route 13 bridge over Brush Creek, Route 13 in both directions will be reduced to one lane, with Northbound Route 13 traffic being diverted to the existing southbound lanes in a head-to-head configuration.  For the Northbound Route 13 over the  North Dry Sac River Bridge, Northbound Route 13 will be reduced to one lane with lane shifts to facilitate construction of the improvements.

Will I be able to access my property on Route N?

Access to driveways and field entrances will be maintained to the extent possible.  Drivers will not be able to cross Sadler Branch through the work zone.

Will access along Route 13 be restricted?

Route 13 over Brush Creek: Northbound Route 13 will not be able to access W Mill Street for the duration of construction.  Local traffic entering Northbound Route 13 via W Mill Street will still be able to do so.  S 25th Road will remain open to Southbound Route 13 for the duration of construction.

Route 13 over North Dry Sac River: E 565th Road and North Dry Sac River Access points will remain open throughout the construction.

How long will construction activities be active at each bridge location?

Route N over Sadler Branch: 104 calendar days

Route 13 over Brush Creek: 203 calendar days

Route 13 over North Dry Sac River: 167 calendar days

Will MoDOT need to acquire additional right-of-way for these projects?

Route N over Sadler Branch: Yes. Additional right-of-way will be needed to construct the project.

Route 13 over Brush Creek: No. All improvements will be constructed within the existing right-of-way.

Route 13 over North Dry Sac River: No. All improvements will be constructed within the existing right-of-way.

Will these bridges be closed simultaneously?

Route N is currently scheduled to be let separately from the two Route 13 projects.  The Route 13 projects are scheduled to be let in combination, resulting in potential simultaneous construction.

The last day to leave comments on this project is Tuesday, October 21.
