NE Coalition Safety Reimbursement Grants Available to Agencies

Goal is to reduce fatalities on Missouri roads

HANNIBAL - The NE Coalition for Roadway Safety is part of a statewide effort to reduce fatalities and disabling injuries on Missouri Roads.  We have reimbursement grant funding available to your organization/agency for equipment and/or programs that can assist in this effort.  Typical grants are between $200 and $2000 per request yet is not limited.  To be eligible, you must be operating within the 17-county region of northeast Missouri.  If you are not familiar with the Coalition, please visit our website at Coalition for Roadway Safety Northeast Region.

To apply, please send an email request to marisa.ellison@modot.mo.gov and include in this request the following:

Specific equipment – it’s best to provide us a screen shot/email with a quote Specific dollar amount Specific number/amount of equipment (1 or 2 or 3, etc.) Justification on how this equipment directly correlates with efforts to reduce fatal and serious injury crashes.  Radar guns and PBTs are acceptable (among other items); however, body cams and other equipment not associated with reducing crashes will not be authorized.  If you’re not sure, please ask!

Specific programs:  If you have a program or educational items that can assist in the mission, please include in your email details about the program, how it will impact lives/potentially save lives, how much you are requesting and associate those costs with items (labor, educational items, literature, etc.)

Overall, approved requests will support focus areas of the Strategic Highway Safety Plan, Show-Me Zero: seat belts, distracted driving, speed, impairment, teen drivers, older drivers, or pedestrians.
