Citizens are pleased with the progress on the current project, and hope to continue in a successful partnership with MoDOT. This will be accomplished through the following improvements:
- Modify portions of Buckner-Tarsney (Route AA) to two-through lanes and a center two-way left turn lane.
- Provide a multi-use path on the east side of the road, and a standard sidewalk on the west side with enhanced crosswalks.
- Upgrade street lighting.
- Provide a new roadway surface with curb, gutter and drainage improvements.
- Upgrade a railroad crossing within the project limits.
The approximately $3 million project began design in June 2013 with an anticipated construction start date of spring 2015.
