Six bridge rehabilitation projects in Carroll County now complete

ST. JOSEPH, Mo – A rehabilitation project on six bridges in Carroll County is now complete. Crews from Capital Paving and Construction, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, completed the project today, Aug. 25, reopening the final two bridges on U.S. Route 24 over the BNSF Railroad and Little Wakenda Creek. The project began in February 2023.

The following bridges were rehabilitated in this project:

  • Route E (Benton Street) over U.S. Route 65
  • S. Route 24 over BNSF Railroad just east of the U.S. Route 65 interchange.
  • S. Route 24 over Little Wakenda Creek east of Carrollton.
  • S. Route 24/65 over Old U.S. Highway 24/Outer Road 24 and the BNSF railroad, located south of the Benton Street Bridge.
  • S. Route 24/65 over Moss Creek Drainage Ditch, approximately 4 miles south of Route 10.
  • S. Route 24/65 over the Norfolk Southern Railroad, Outer Road 24 and Missouri 10.
