Project Overview:

The $3.7 million project is a partnership between the Missouri Department of Transportation and the City of Fulton. The project includes resurfacing of Business Route 54 from Callaway County Route H to U.S. Route 54 on the north side of Fulton, as well as sidewalk and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) pedestrian upgrades along Business Route 54. The improvement work also includes resurfacing Silver Drive (Route 54 West Outer Road).

Cost:

The total cost is approximately $2.8 million.

Why was this work necessary?

The resurfacing of Business Route 54 was necessary to keep the pavement in good condition. The improved pavement will provide a smoother, safer surface with better traction for motorists. The sidewalk improvements are needed to bring sidewalks and intersections along Business Route 54 into compliance with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. These improvements will provide safer access for all pedestrians and especially those with disabilities.
