Carroll County U.S. Route 24/65 bridge project complete south of Carrollton

Two-way traffic resumes at the U.S. Route 24/65 bridge over Moss Creek Drainage Ditch

ST. JOSEPH, Mo – A bridge rehabilitation project on U.S. Route 24/65 in Carroll County, over Moss Creek Drainage Ditch, is now complete. Crews from Capital Paving and Construction, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, completed the project which began Aug. 15, 2022.

During construction, temporary traffic signals were in place to guide motorists through the single-lane work zone. Crews removed the traffic signals today, Wednesday, Jan. 4, and opened the bridge to two-way traffic.

This bridge is part of a larger project which will rehabilitate seven bridges along U.S. Route 24. The bridge just south of Carrollton over Missouri Route 10, Outer Road 24 and the Norfolk Southern Railroad was completed in 2022. The remaining five bridges are expected to be constructed in 2023.
