Carroll County U.S. Route 24/65 bridge project complete just south of Carrollton

Two-way traffic resumes at the U.S. Route 24 bridge over Route 10

ST. JOSEPH, Mo – A bridge rehabilitation project on U.S. Route 24/65 in Carroll County, over Missouri Route 10, Outer Road 24 and the Norfolk Southern Railroad is now complete. Crews from Capital Paving and Construction, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, completed the project which began Aug. 18, 2022.

During construction, temporary traffic signals were in place to guide motorists through the single-lane work zone. Crews removed the traffic signals today, Monday, Dec. 12, and opened the bridge to two-way traffic.

With the completion of the bridge rehabilitation, the adjacent ramp from Route 10 to northbound U.S. Route 24/65 also reopened to traffic.

This bridge is part of a larger project which will rehabilitate seven bridges along U.S. Route 24. The bridge over Moss Creek approximately 4 miles south of Route 10, currently under construction, is part of this larger project. The Moss Creek bridge is in the finishing stages and could reopen to two-way traffic by the end of 2022. The remaining five bridges are expected to be constructed in 2023.
