National Alliance of Highway Beautification (NAHBA)

NAHBA was a great success with representation from many aspects of outdoor advertising.  MoDOT received an Award of Excellence for Innovations in Outdoor Advertising for our county billing process.  Joyce Musick also received the 2009 Chairman’s Award.  For more information regarding NAHBA and the presentations that were given, please visit our website.

Vegetation Permit

As a reminder, a vegetation permit is needed prior to the cutting of any vegetation on right of way.  Furthermore, proof of liability insurance and a performance bond is required prior to the issuance of a permit.  Accessing the vegetation from right of way is strictly prohibited.  All grass, brush and low-lying vegetation may be trimmed no less than six inches (6”) in height to prevent slope erosion. Hand trimming must be performed on slopes greater than 3 to 1.

Junkyard Control

MoDOT is also mandated to control junkyards along interstate and primary routes.  ODA Permit Specialists will inspect junkyards during the months of October and November.
