Seasonal Maintenance Worker

For Seasonal Maintenance Workers, MoDOT requires applicants to be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED/HiSET, possess a valid driver's license, and have a passing grade on the written portion of the commercial driver's license (CDL) exam.  Applicants must pass the driving portion of the CDL exam with tanker endorsement, no air brake restrictions (Class B), and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate[EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI] within 60 days after being hired into position.  Applicants must also successfully complete a criminal background check, drug screening, work simulation, and physical.

Seasonal Maintenance Workers must have the ability to learn the operation of equipment in the area including heavy dump truck with snowplow, 6-foot tractor mower, front-end loader, jack hammer and pull roller. Ability to perform physical labor including moving materials by hand, operating hand tools and stationary flagging is also required.

Seasonal maintenance workers work no more than 1,040 hours within a 12-month period. These positions are not benefit-eligible but are paid an hourly wage starting at $12.69/hour.
